Kearny Redevelopment Plan, If Amended, To Accomdate 445 Acre Industrial SIte

     PUBLIC NOTICE  SP-717 Kearny Area Redevelopment Plan Amendment   PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the New Jersey Meadowlands Commission (NJMC) will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, to obtain comments on an amendment to the Kearny Area Redevelopment Plan, originally adopted by the NJMC on May 24, 2000, and amended on March 27, 2002, July 14, 2004, and September 28, 2011. The public hearing will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the offices of the NJMC, Two DeKorte Park Plaza, Lyndhurst, New Jersey.   The Kearny Area Redevelopment Area, located in the Town of Kearny, within the Hackensack Meadowlands District, comprises approximately 445 acres and is defined as the following: Block 205, Lots 18, 19.02, 24, 25, 26.01, 26.02, & 27-33; Block 253, Lots 5.01 & 5.02; Block 275, Lot 1; Block 284, Lots 2.02 (formerly 2.01), 3.02 (formerly 3.01), 4.02 (formerly 4.01), 7, 7.02, 9.01, 9.03, 9.05, 11.01, 11.02, & 11.04; Block 285, Lots 1.01, 2, 3, 14, & 15; and Block 286, Lots 4, 4.01, 5, 6.01, 6.02, 7, 9, 16, 47, 47.01, & 48.   Petitions to amend the Kearny Area Redevelopment Plan were submitted by Castano Quigley LLC, on behalf of the Town of Kearny, and Hartz Mountain Industries, Inc.   A copy of the full text of the proposed redevelopment plan amendment and a map of the subject area are available for public inspection during normal office hours at the Commission’s Public Information Center at One DeKorte Park Plaza in Lyndhurst, which may be contacted at (201) 460-1700. The documents are also available for download from the NJMC website at http://www.njmeadowlands.gov/public/notices_2014.html. Interested persons may submit oral or written comments at, or prior to, the public hearing. Upon consideration of the comments submitted, the NJMC staff will prepare a recommendation for the Commission.
